Nintendo Mario Games 25th Anniversary

Whenever anybody talks about video games, he or she cannot miss to mention Mario. Mario is one of the few video game characters to have become so famous that even today video games of the same name and character enter the market. The fact that everybody, old and young, anticipates the release of these games is even more impressive. Mario first entered the gaming scene as Jumpman in the famous arcade game, Donkey Kong in 1981. In 1983, the arcade game Mario Bros. came out which had Mario's brother Luigi. In Super Mario Bros. game, all the famous characters of Mario, including Luigi and princess Peach, were present. From the mid-80's till now Mario has continued to captivate and enthral game players of all ages. The popularity of the game doesn't seem to be diminishing. Kids who start playing video games nowadays usually start on Mario; same as the kids 10 and 15 years ago, who also started on Mario.

The popularity of the Mario games has often come under discussion. No Nintendo console has ever gone without having its own Mario game. This testimony tells us the demand for Mario games is bigger now then ever before. The reason for such vast popularity of each Mario game is the simplistic yet engaging gameplay that can keep anybody hooked for hours on end. The gameplay does not tax you mentally like many other modern games. Most game masters would agree Mario games can be ideal for relaxing after work. It does not matter whether you are a good gamer or not. All people who play Mario end up enjoying it, and want to play more. In addition, the main protagonist of the game Mario has a sort of universal likeability.

On 13th September 2010, Mario will be 25 years old. To celebrate the success of Nintendo's Mario series, new limited edition consoles are going on sale in time for Christmas!
