Mario is one of the few video game characters to have become so famous that even today video games of the same name and character enter the market. The fact that everybody, old and young, anticipates the release of these games is even more impressive. Mario first entered the gaming scene as Jumpman in the famous arcade game, Donkey Kong in 1981. Kids who start playing video games nowadays usually start on Mario; same as the kids 10 and 15 years ago, who also started on Mario.

The popularity of the Mario games has often come under discussion. No Nintendo console has ever gone without having its own Mario game. It does not matter whether you are a good gamer or not. All people who play Mario end up enjoying it, and want to play more.
