Pokemon Go Plus

Pokémon Go the free-to-play location-based, augmented reality game for iOS and Android devices has taken gamers to places near and far. Pokémon Go is a single-player experience that uses mobile phone GPS and the clock to detect when and where you are in the game, which makes catchable Pokémon appear near you.

As you walk around, different and more types of Pokémon will appear depending on your GPS location. The idea is to encourage you to travel around the real World to catch Pokémon in the game.   Some gamers on Twitter have criticised “there’s not enough Pokemon near to where I live”, similar to dead Zones with Wi-fi. While this experience is aimed at casual gamers, other Pokemon fans went all out to reach Level 75 in a race to the top to find them all. The general feedback being – "the game becomes increasingly slow after level 20."

Despite the few negative comments, this game has been downloaded over 75 million times since being released on 14/07/16 (yes that many in 2 weeks)  and will only increase over time.

There’s more on the way too! Nintendo has made a cool wrist band accessory for this! Sort of a Ghostbuster gadget called the “Pokémon Go Plus”

The Pokémon Go Plus connects to your smartphone on Bluetooth and notifies you (Blinks and vibrates) when you’re near to a PokéStop. This has been as safety concern with Pokémon Go hunters constantly looking at the phone and not where they’re walking.

The game was bizarrely inspired by a Google April Fools joke that went on to be developed by Niantic and licensed by the Pokémon Co, which Nintendo owns 32% shareholdings.
